Award winning artist, Susan Castriota, has hand-drawn hundreds of custom illustrations of private homes, historical landmarks and city skylines for over thirty-five years. Her holiday greeting cards were sold at Marshall Fields, Saks, and the White House gift shop. Other patrons include various politicians, law firms, fundraising entities, and corporations like The H.J. Heinz Company, Farley Candy Co, PNC Bank, and the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Organization. The National Cathedral (Washington, DC) granted Castriota permission to paint its likeness, a rare privilege granted to few artists. She also received permission from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to illustrate its historic landmark, "Falling Water".

In 2008, Castriota was nominated to design an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree, and attended a reception at the White House, hosted by then First Lady Laura Bush, to view the ornament on display in the Blue Room.

Castriota, considered an historian on the dogs of the White House, is the author and illustrator of the award winning "Wilson and the White House Pups" book from the book series Wilson's Wondrous Tails. She did extensive research and the book was edited by the White House Historical Association, thereby ensuring its historical accuracy.

Castriota, a breast cancer survivor, now in remission, also holds 3 patents on her microwave glass cookware. To learn more about Cuchina Safe® lids visit
